Selective Plating Processaka "Brush Plating"
Selective plating is a method of electroplating a specific material (Nickel, chrome, cobalt, copper, gold, silver, tin, etc.) onto a selected surface without plating the entire part or the use of immersion tanks or baths.
This procsess, primarily popular in the aerospace industry; not only used for repairing mis-machined & worn machine parts, but also as a tool for applying plating materials for surface modification or per specifications.

One of the more popular features of this process is giving us the ability to touch up damages (nicks, gouges, scrapes or scratches) on already plated surfaces, instead of stripping and replating the entire part. This comes in handy on mold surfaces (too large to move) or rolls on the machine (without dis-assembling them). Our new plating repair blends in perfectly with the original plating.
Through a special D.C. power pack rectifier the part to be plated is given a negative (-) charge. Coupled with a special plating tool, the plating solution receives a positive (+) charge. A contact movement between the tool and the part is maintained, either by hand, or by mechanical means such as with a rotating device. Accurate build up is achieved by calculations and utilizing the built-in electronic amp-hour meter.
